30 Day Challenge - Days 7-12

So here I am with info on days 7 to 12 of the Thirty Day Challenge. I know, I know, I’m a bit late with it, but you know what they say: “Better late than never!”.

It’s the 23′rd of August and things are moving very fast. A lot of things have been happening on the challenge and I barely found some time to post about it here.

Day 7 - It’s Judgment Day

The objective of day 7 was to choose key phrases with low competition and high number of daily searches. To do this I had to enter the initial keywords in Wordtracker, than take the keywords in the list in order and do a phrase match search in Google to see the number of web pages containing the exact phrase that I targeted. If Wordtracker estimated above 80 searches per day and Google competition was below 30,000 then the key phrase was good. If not I had to choose another one from the list.

Day 8 - The Most Important Day Of The Challenge

Using Google Trends I was able to determine more precisely the amount of daily searches for my chosen keywords. This was achieved by comparing the graph of searches for my keyword with the graph from a keyword with a known amount of searches per day. In our case the keyword was “male yeast infection” which received about 500 searches a day in the beginning of 2007.

Day 9 - Google Trends Redux

The trick here was to compare the traffic ratios in the Enlish language section of the Google Trends results. So if the ratio multiplied by 500 was 100 or more, than I had a very good keyword to work with.

Day 10 - And Then There Were  Two

The objective of the day was to read and take notes of all interesting stuff related to my keyword, using any of the available resources. Also to search for news and subscribe to news and blogs relatd to my keyword.

Day 11 and Day 12 - Catchup Time

As you guessed the weekend is for us all to catch up on all the training sessions.

I’ll get back later today with a brief summary of days 13 to 19, so stay tuned!
