IMDb - The world’s largest movie database

Have you recently seen a movie and would like to share your impressions on it? Or maybe you’ve missed one and want to know if it’s any good. It could be that you’re just uncertain whether a movie is worth buying/renting, considering that you haven’t seen it. Well then, why not search for it on Imdb - the world’s largest movie database?

New or old, good or bad, short or long, movies of all types will be listed in this database, complete with ratings, user comments and impressions, taglines, plot outlines and the brand new plot synopsis. Since all other terms are self-explanatory, the plot synopsis is certainly the only one who requires explaining. It is basically an in-depth description of the movie, from start to finish - a very detailed plot outline. This is especially useful for users who like to understand the movie better, or are searching for things/symbols they’ve missed.

Also, besides the typical movie information - like release dates, alternative titles etc - the site boasts information very valuable to movie fanatics, such as quotes, trivia and my personal favorite, goofs. If the more obvious mistakes don’t appeal to you, you might be interested in the harder-to-discover factual errors. I’m not sure who has the time or patience to examine every detail, but some findings will definitely make you laugh - see X-men 3, the goof about Wolverine’s small cut.

And what site would be complete without your favorite actors’ detailed personal biography? Yes, this database can see the past, present and future of most actors, at least when it comes to their movie roles. Yet not even the world’s largest movie database is good enough to have solved the greatest mystery in the universe - the birth year of apparently un-born Tom Kiesche. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, search for yourselves and you’ll end up drawing the same conclusion I did - it’s a secret he will take to his grave.
